Course Syllabus
1: Introduction to Security Systems
1-2 weeks
Overview of security industry, types of cameras (Dome, Bullet, PTZ), DVR/NVR recorders, lenses, resolution standards, and basic electronic components used in CCTV.
2: Tools & Installation Techniques
3-4 weeks
Hands-on training with professional tools (drills, crimping tools, cable testers, multimeter). Cable routing, mounting cameras, power supply wiring, and safety practices.
3: Analog vs. IP CCTV Systems
5-6 weeks
Detailed comparison, coaxial cables (RG59, Siamese), UTP/STP cabling, power over Ethernet (PoE), IP addressing, network setup for cameras, and hybrid systems.
4: DVR/NVR Configuration
7-8 weeks
Setting up recorders, channel configuration, motion detection settings, storage calculation (HDD), remote viewing setup (mobile/PC), and backup management.
5: Advanced Surveillance & Troubleshooting
9-10 weeks
Troubleshooting common issues (no signal, interference, night vision problems), integrating sensors and alarms, maintenance of systems, and client communication.
6: Project & Site Survey
11-12 weeks
Conducting site surveys, designing a security layout for a home/small office, preparing BOQ (Bill of Quantity), and final practical project installation.
